World Vision - FMNR Manifesto Film
VFX Breakdown
It’s not every day I have a luxury to contribute to the project which is truly meaningful.
This time I had a pleasure working for World Vision Australia under the creative supervision of M&C Saatchi. I created several CGI animations for their Manifesto Film about how invisible forests will save the world. I’m presenting a short VFX breakdown of the Root System animation.

.Background
In many African dry lands like the Sahel, the lower stretch of the Sahara desert the area is full of small tree stumps with a powerful root system underground. Instead of trying to plant new trees, World Vision Australia promotes the regeneration of these stumps through a very simple and effective method called Farmer Managed Natural Resources. It is a low-cost land restoration technique used to combat poverty and hunger amongst poor subsistence farmers by increasing food and timber production and resilience to climate extremes.
Using FMNR Tony Rinaudo from World Vision Australia has regenerated 600 million hectares of land since 1983. Restoring some of the world's most vulnerable communities in the process.
World Vision's goal is to regenerate one billion hectares worldwide, and reduce global carbon by 25%.
